Bad Photoetry Thursday

Well, nobody has paid me any money yet for my bad poetry, so I guess that means no wasting perfectly good bread bowls. Dang.

So here's my new thing!(C) Tm. Bad Photoetry! I pick a random thing to search for on Google images, and then write a bad poem to go on top of it! How awesome is that? Now you can rest assured that my self-published book of bad poetry will also contain pictures for those of you, my readers, that don't know how to read. Or just want to save yourselves the pain of reading overwrought nonsensical pomes (not sic)

Here is Bad Photoetry #1!

Overture and Disease (Awkward Vol. 1)

Will you also post the search subject that you used?

You know, all you really need is an MFA and you could be a conceptual artist. Really, I'm not kidding.

Yes, in the future I will post the search subject. This week's was Abandoned House.

Well, I suppose if I tried I might be able to pull it off, Liz. The only problem is that I would need to come up with something original. For the most part, this idea is totally derivative of Edward Ruscha (who is great, by the way). I would also probably need to learn to take my own pictures and not steal other people's pictures of the internet. But thanks for the advice!

Awesomeness. I dig the new feature. You , Schuyler, might dig the automatic adolescent poetry generator you can find here: http://www.elsewhere.org/hbzpoetry/

What??? Are you saying that my poetry is "adolescent?" If so, well....damn. You're right. And it's not even as good as the fake stuff automatically generated at your link. Which is amazing by the way. I have a hard time believing those are not real poems.

LOL, Schuyler you should know better... there is nothing original under the sun... Everything is derivative of something. The difference between just recycling an idea and being a conceptual artist is that the conceptual artist has some totally pretentious, boring, and snooty explanation about his/ her influences and the impact those influences have had on their art. The non-artist says, "Yeah, I'm ripping off so-n-so."

And I bet you'd have great fun writing parodies of those Artist's Statements to go with your work ;-)
