List Tuesday: Lose These Streets and Crowds



Christmas Songs I Can't Listen To

This will be a short list. I love Christmas music, but there are a few songs that I can't listen to. I don't hate them because, hey, they're still Christmas songs!

  1. Santa Baby - Madonna: The Eartha Kitt version takes Madonna's version out behind the shed, ties it to a pole and punches it once in the kidneys.

  2. The GD Barking Dogs - Jingle Bells: Actually, this one applies to any novelty songs in which samples of animal sounds at different pitches are strung together to make a melody.

  3. Silent Night - Chewbacca(?): Actually, this one applies to any novelty songs in which fictional creatures sing the melody. Stupid 101.4 FM.

  4. Up On the Roof Top - Any Version: There is a line that says "First comes the stocking of little Will." But no it doesn't. It doesn't, and that is shit.

    what about that song "hey santa" by wilson phillips?

    you have to admit, that is a really annoying song.

    Unfortunately (fortunately?) I don't know that song. Of the 174 Christmas songs on my iPod, the only Wilson Phillips song I have is Silent Night. It's not bad.

    Wow. 174 is a lot.

    The Paul McCratney Christmas song is incredibly terrible.

    And at this hot bar I frequent for lunches, they play "All I Want For Christmas is You" on a continuous loop. That needs to stop.

    WHAT??? You think "Simply having a wonderful Christmas time" is terrible? Well, kinda it is, but I can still listen to it.

    As to songs being played on continuous loops, there are only about 3 that I can handle. Christmas songs anyway.

    They are all by the Chipmunks. Those dudes are hilarious!!!!!
